This Weekend: River Lights, Epilepsy Walk
I hope everyone is surviving this dreary Friday and looking forward to some great events this weekend! The sun will mix in with some leftover showers tomorrow, and once you're all dried off, it'll be time to head to the Housatonic River for Stratford's Riverlights Parade!
If you've never been to this parade, you're missing out... you've never seen parade "floats" like this before! Parade participants dress their boats up with showy light displays in unique themes. Riverlights launched in 2008 as a benefit for Swim Across the Sound, and the event is quickly becoming a tradition in the area. All the money raised benefits St. Vincent's Medical Center.
At 12:00 Noon on Sunday, the Connecticut Epilepsy Advocate's Walking Miles for Epilepsy event will take place at Eisenhower Park in Milford. The entry fee is $20 for a walk on the trail, food and drinks. You'll get a little bit of exercise on a pleasant walking trail... plus you'll help make a difference for people suffering from this treatable, but sometimes mysterious disease. You can get more information about the walk here.
I'll see you out and about... maybe this weekend! :-)
