A look inside MyNetwork
Two and a half months and counting. That's when the plug gets pulled on UPN and we turn on MyNetwork. If you're not familiar with what's been going on in this television business drama, I posted a story from the Associated Press on our web site. Here's a snippet.
Created out of the ashes of UPN and due to take flight on Sept. 5, this haven for prime-time soap operas represents one of the most intriguing rolls of the dice that the TV business has seen in several years.
It will test whether there is an English-language marketplace for telenovelas, the steamy, short-run stories that are all the rage in Latin America and the programming foundation for Univision, the nation's most popular Spanish-language network.

Sorry to disappoint you and your well documented anti-WTNH bias, but we were there. We streamed the event live on our web site. The unedited clip is available on our web site for the world to see.
Also, your comment is off topic for this blog posting.
At least there are no repeats-no "reality" shows -and no blaring megaphones.
Did you folks ever consider going back to using your actual channel number, or is the "9" from cable going to permanently stick? While I realize that it is virtually a copy of the network and channel number of WWOR, I feel that many of us would prefer seeing 59 up there. It's missed. So is the independent station line-up which once existed on your station and, for that matter, numerous other stations in Connecticut TV history.
Creativity has nothing to do with it.
I'm not privvy to all the paperwork, but my understanding is that MY set pretty strict rules about how stations should identify themselves, including use of the logo.
Here's an image I assembled from a few other MY Network Affilliates around the country and the My Network Wiki entry. Not everyone is using their MY logo right now, but I think you get the idea here.

As for us using 9 rather than 59, that decision was made a while ago by folks who wear suits and ties for a living.
there plenty of people up late at night this isn't the 1970's.
Also with this My Network who is going to be home on every night and watch these soaps. People want different shows at primetime. The daytime is for soaps. If this is FOX's way of getting back at WB/UPN becoming The CW this fall its not good. I say My Network will fail but then again we do still have the "i" network.
The short version -- be nice and be respectful of other's opinions, even if they don't agree with yours, or your comment may be deleted.
