Green Dot
There have been some inquiries regarding the green dot on certain helmets in the NFL. Those green dots signify a quarterback's helmet. All quarterback helmets in the league are wired with a radio receiver to get signals and plays from coaches.
I hope this answers those questions out there. Enjoy Wildcard Playoff Weekend! The Giants play at Tampa Sunday at 12:30pm

Jeff, you have no idea how many times I've
been asked that question. No reason I can
think of other than when I was a kid we used
to play tackle in our neighborhood. Maybe my
teammates liked the Cowboys? Beats me!!! But
I must say it's easier to accept than people
who are Red Sox fans AND NY Giants fans.

funny...how innocent childhood dreams can come back to haunt us later in life...
ya know, the boy next door, the boy's not right...(jr in college) cxhitt, he is a red sox fan...and a giant's fan too... i've got to talk with his dad...something went wrong...might be the boy's mothers' influence...

It's something in childhood I think that triggers you to a fan of certain teams. I'm a Denver Broncos fan but I've never been to Colorado, lived in CT my whole life. I think it's because my father was a Raiders fan and the Broncos-Raiders was a big rivalry, and I just wanted to be "against" my Dad. The Raiders always annoyed me :)

I grew up a Yankees/Cowboys fan as well. My dad was the same, so I latched on very early. Baseball allegiences have traditionally been with the local team(s), whereas pro football allegiences, outside of the Midwest, have not been so strictly local. Pro football was nowhere near as popular as college football in this part of the country until the 60s. Dad and Grandpa were huge ND and Yale football fans, but didn't have a favorite pro team. My dad tried to follow the Giants, but when their coaching staff split up (Lombardi to GB and Landry to Dallas) Dad decided to follow Landry's expansion Cowboys. Thank God he didn't follow Lombardi--I'd be wearing one of those ridiculous cheese hats!
BTW--Go Bucs! Gotta stop the momentum the Giants built last week against the Pats...

Yankee fans = Cowboy fans... my guess is that these fans are the byproduct of kids who jumped on the bandwagon of the frontrunner at the time.
