Trivia for everyone. The family name is Toyoda with a "D". The car is Toyota with a "T". That is because in the pictograph system of Chinese writing, Toyoda uses 7 strokes whereas Toyota uses 8 strokes. The number 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture. Every culture has its superstitions. Therefore, the Toyoda family chose the Toyota spelling for the car. Mr. Toyoda claims that his name is on every vehicle. No, his name is not on every vehicle. Could some other Chinese superstition be in the way of Mr Toyoda fixing the problem at our expense? Perhaps, he has to wait until the 8th decade since his grandfather founded the company.

"Deeply sorry." well, after i kill 32 people, and injure others, and lie about it via corporate cover-up... i think that is what i will tell the Judge and the Asst. States' Attorney... 'Gee, i'm deeply sorry'

Is there anybody investigating what went wrong in the manufacturing? an engineering mistake or a plot to overthrow MrToyoda's empire?

How does a great car for decades becomes suddenly so dangerous?

Maybe WTNH could do the world a service and save lives by suggesting that these runaway drivers just put the car in neutral? I can't believe these people are racing hysterically for over 15-20 minutes and nobody tells them to put it in neutral. In the most recent case, this guy in CA says he was afraid to because he thought the car might flip? He's never driven 90 mph before?
