This is One Giant Knitted Christmas Tree!
Link: http://www.edenproject.com/

This is a giant Christmas tree made up of several thousand knitted sleeves. that's right a sleeve for a sweater. it is 30 feet tall! At the top of the tree is a 54 inch tall angel. It was done in the United Kingdom by 1,000 knitters aged 4 to 96. The Eden Project is behind the idea. I just thought it was inspirational and beautiful and shows what can happen when people come together. Everything on the tree is knitted including the presents. Think of the money that could be raised for charity by folks just coming to admire it. In fact the tree has raised thousands of dollars for Hospice. I hope it's food for thought.
Happy Holidays!

Think about what can be made with all of the mismatched socks that come out of the washer.
Thanks for sharing Ann. :-)
Ever since I was little, I've wished that I could knit. I always liked watching my grandmother knit when I was a kid. It would especially fascinate me when she'd be making mittens or socks and she'd be using FOUR needles at a time! I could never even manage anything decent using only TWO needles. My stitches would always come out either too tight or too loose.
Does this project give YOU any ideas, Ann? :)
