That was way too much Information for me Ann,to begin where to start to help,I already am helping Stevie Nicks on Her mission to get all the Soldiers that are home with injuries in the Hospitals,IPODS.She went to visit them and wanted to do somthing for them and being a Musician She wanted to get them IPODS.Why I wanted to help there is because I am injured myself and I know how Beautiful Music can help You through the hard times.I want them home too, thats why I read the site you put up and read the letter from Paul,He wants to come home,My Prayers are there.I am going to see if I can send some Christmass cards, getting the stamps is an ordeal for me not getting them, getting the money I payed all the bills and it`s oop`s no money for Christmass again.Oh Well!I am sure if I ask my Son he will splurge on a book of stamp,or I will threaten not to cook. After reading Pauls letter and the tears in my eyes,I have to take some action.Thank You for making me aware of the sad situation.I guess compared to the Soldiers I am having a wonderful Christmass.~Peace Glenna~

Great idea Ann! Our school has adopted a local soldier and the children couldn't be prouder. They send cards, letters, food and small gifts. I know it also helps his parents to know that an entire community is out there praying for their son and his safe return.
No matter what your opinion on the war....please support our troops!

We've just recieved the name of our "adopted soldier." It took just one day. I fired off an e-mail right away to find out more about "James." The reporter in me wonders where he is....what is his mission...is he in Iraq? Because we don't know whether he has the opportunity to be near a computer, we will also send snail mail.

For those of you getting classes involved, I know it will be a wonderful rewarding experience.

Ann, Are you aware that the Xerox Comapany has a site www.LetsSayThanks.com where you can pick a picture done by children on a Post Card, you can also write a message or pick one of the prewritten ones and they will send it to a solider free of charge. Please do not use my name.

My daughter's (8yrs old) best friend's mom is currently serving a year "over there" - when she comes home, it's Dad's turn to go, for a year as well, so I have my "Sailor" adopted already. Although, she is close to a well stocked commissary, she is yearning for home baked goodies. It's been a lot of research finding just the right treat that will travel well and endure the heat. Any suggestions would be appreaciated. I hear to send them sealed (of course) and frozen to start helps, but I'm not sure - and of course no chocolate!:-( I'll be checking back if anyone has any tips, please feel free. I'll be baking something this weekend so it can arrive in time. Happy Holidays!

I am so glad to see so many people adopting soldiers through this program! It has been a huge success with the students at Quinnipiac. (My sorority was given the names of 80 soldiers, and every single one of them has been adopted! And more than half of them have actually been adopted twice!) Thank you to those viewers who have adopted a soldier -- you truly are amazing! Happy Holidays! :)
